Tentative Draft of Preseason Sessions

This schedule will change, and each day will ultimately contain a complete agenda. Please be patient as we have to coordinate with other teams and work around field availability issues. My intention is to provide players and families with a general idea of what to expect. The "What are my coaches looking for?" section is also a work in progress and will be amended to include- among other things- goalkeeping considerations.

Fundamental


Are you adept in using both feet in all aspects of the game? (F1)

 Are you playing with your head up; are you able to control the ball without looking at it? (F3)

 Can you tackle cleanly and take the ball away from an attacker? (F5)

 Can you receive a ball on your first touch, and accurately distribute the ball? (F6)

 Can you cross the ball in the air to an oncoming teammate? (F7)



Attitudinal


Are you a strong communicator on- and away from- the ball? (A1)

 Are you an actively supportive teammate? (A2)

 Are you physically, mentally and emotionally prepared to play to your highest potential? (A3)

 How do you react to setbacks? Or when the ball goes out of play or in the woods? (A4)

Tactical

Captains' Practices for Summer 2011

Captains' Practices will begin on Wednesday, July 6 at 9 a.m. (Norton Middle School Lower Fields).
Please bring shin pads, a ball, and plenty of water.
